You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.

Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin'

They're back. Two years after their spectacular rise, Scissors Sisters are about to re-enter planet pop's atmosphere with a bang. Their sparkling new single, I Don't Feel Like Dancin' is out on Sept 4th through Polydor Records. It's set to contradict its title and cause dancefloor mayhem from Brooklyn to Birmingham. I Don't Feel Like Dancin' is possibly the happiest-sounding song ever conceived about staying in and feeling miserable. "By singing about not feeling like dancing, it was the only way to write a dance song that was fun." says Jake Shears.

"The song is also about being in love," adds Ana Matronic. "There is a line that goes, 'I'd rather be at home with the one in bed till dawn"

I Don't Feel Like Dancin' is taken from Scissor Sister's forthcoming album 'Ta-dah' which is due for release on September 18th. 'Ta-dah' is the follow up to Scissor Sisters self-titled debut album which sold 2.4 million copies in the UK alone and earned them three Brit awards in 2005.

The new album is, as ever, wildly eclectic, brilliant, life-affirming pop. The overall sound? "It's much more full," says Del Marquis, "and thicker. And Jake [who, with Babydaddy, forms the band's main songwriting axis] has gotten wordy as hell."

The band recently previewed tracks from the album at a secret live show at The Scala in London. The show had the fans and media praising Scissor Sisters triumphant return. The Scissor Sisters Album Player - click here
