Simon Webbe - My Soul Pleads For You

Simon Webbe 2007

Top selling solo artist Simon Webbe kicks off 2007 in true style with his stunning new single "My Soul Pleads For You", released 5th February through Innocent Records.

"My Soul Pleads For You" is a delicate ballad about love from a different perspective. Simon says: "It's an emotional song about a girl who's the love of your life, and you put her on a pedestal".

The track combines heartfelt lyrics with acoustic guitars, beautiful strings and Simon's now trademark smooth harmonies. Simon adds that technically it was a hard track to record because he was singing at the top of his register, "I had to get into the zone to do that one."

The B-side of the single is Simon's highly acclaimed cover of The Killers' "When We Were Young", which was recently recorded at the BBC's Maida Vale studios for Jo Whiley's "Live Lounge" on Radio One. The track proved an instant hit with Radio One listeners prompting many repeat plays across other shows on the station.

"My Soul Pleads For You" is the second single to be taken from Simon's second critically praised solo album "Grace". The album is a collection of twelve perfectly crafted pop songs moulded in the sound Simon himself calls "urban folk".

Spring 2007 will also see Simon embark on his first ever live tour of the UK. The 18 date tour will cover theatres across the country throughout May and June. Simon will perform tracks from his two solo albums "Sanctuary" and "Grace". The albums have so far spawned the hit singles "No Worries", "Lay Your Hands", "After All This Time" and the recent Top 5 airplay smash hit "Coming Around Again".

The past year has been huge for Simon, with his first album "Sanctuary" going double platinum, followed by phenomenal international solo success with sales across Europe and Asia, culminating in Simon picking up the "Best Breakthrough Act" award at the 2006 MTV Asia Awards.
