Snow Patrol - Take Back The City - A Hundred Million Suns
Snow Patrol release their brand new album A Hundred Million Suns through Fiction/Polydor on October 27th 2008.
The album is preceded by the fantastic single Take Back The City available from October 13th 2008. Take Back The City comes with a spectacular video shot in East London courtesy of acclaimed video director Alex Courtes (White Stripes - Seven Nation Army).
The band's fifth studio album, A Hundred Million Suns was recorded through Summer 2008 in Hansa Studios in Berlin (where Bowie recorded Low, Heroes & Lodger) and at Grouse Lodge deep in the Irish countryside. Written by Snow Patrol, the album has been produced by long time producer Jacknife Lee (Bloc Party, REM, U2).
Snow Patrol are one of the biggest selling UK bands this decade and A Hundred Million Suns follows up the 2006 Number One, seven times platinum phenomenon Eyes Open which sold an incredible 2.1 million copies in the UK and over 1 million in the USA. Eyes Open achieved platinum awards across the world from the US and Canada to Germany, Australia and beyond, selling over 4.5 million copies in total. The single Chasing Cars has just received it's 100,000th UK radio play and its 2 millionth download in the US.
Snow Patrol are among an elite group of UK artists to have achieved consecutive million selling albums - Eyes Open followed up 2003's Final Straw which sold 1.6 million copies, achieving five times platinum status.
Gary Lightbody (vocals/guitars) says: "I'm so proud of this record. Everybody played out of their skin. Garret (Jacknife Lee) continued his progression from maverick genius to one of the best producers in the world. Musically, lyrically and sonically the best record we've made."

Darren: ilikemusic because... It makes me dance like a motherf**ker
Kat Vipers: ilikemusic because... There's not many other things to like.
Ciarran, The Feeling: ilikemusic because... I find it constantly inspiring and it’s a joy to listen to and a joy to play; it really is a huge part of my life.
O'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!
Alison, A Fine Frenzy: ilikemusic because... It makes life beautiful.
simon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
Newton Faulkner: ilikemusic because... I’m absolutely rubbish at everything else.
Master Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
