Spice Girls Announce Extra Dates Amidst Clamour for Tickets
The Spice Girls have announced a string of extra dates for The Spice Girls' reunion tour after smashing already high expectations for ticket demand.
There have now been 3 million registrations for tickets at www.thespicegirls.com and with up to 6 tickets available for each person, that is a potential 18 million Spice fans clamouring to witness the return of Britain's biggest girl group.
From the moment Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria announced the tour at a June 28 global press conference, they were overwhelmed with applications from across the planet.
"In true Girl Power tradition we are taking over the world...again!" say the band, "We have just found out that we've had over 3 MILLION ticket requests on the website. As our own VB would say, that is MAJOR!!"
In fact, registrations at www.thespicegirls.com had hit the 3 million mark by July 19. That's 3 million in 3 weeks and the phenomenon continues to grow.
They are adding Canada to the trip for the first time and announcing another show in China. The Girls have even had to move their Beijing date to fit Shanghai in, due to overwhelming demand.
