The Blizzards - Buy It Sell It

The Blizzards release their debut single, Buy It Sell It, through Island Records, available from July 6, 2009.

The Blizzards grew up surrounded by records that documented the soul of the Sixties and the neon-pop of the Eighties, and were also largely influenced by The Specials throughout the late Seventies. Their guitar pop dips into all of these musical milestones and more - introducing this band as one of the most exciting acts of the moment. Like Weezer on steroids, The Blizzards are brilliantly conceived.

They are led by the passionate Niall Breslin (also known as Bresy), whose commanding figure dominates their much-talked-about live shows. In interviews he is reflective and considered but refreshingly opinionated - Bresy does not suffer fools gladly.

"Pop music is at the very soul of all of us and I'll challenge anyone who says any different," he says.

The first single, Buy It Sell It, is a pulsing punch of intelligent, boldly-crafted pop, full of intent and bravado, (a lot like frontman Bresy), and this is merely a taste of The Blizzards' firepower - set to be revealed in all its glory on their forthcoming debut album.

The debut LP, entitled Domino Effect, was produced by Niall Breslin and Michael Beinhorn (renowned for his work with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Courtney Love, and Marilyn Manson).

And having already performed as special guests of Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, The Fratellis and the Kooks in their native Ireland, The Blizzards have also quickly developed a huge live following with their explosive shows.

The band's second single, Trust Me I'm A Doctor, will be released on August 17, followed by the album, Domino Effect, on September 7, 2009.

The Blizzards are:

Niall Breslin - Vocals, guitar
Justin Ryan - Lead guitar, vocals
Dec Murphy - Drums
Anthony Doran - Bass
Aidan Lynch - Keyboards, vocals
