The Days - No Ties
The Days have added a further 11 dates to their current UK tour with a string of support dates with Elliot Minor and a performance at Newquay's Unleashed Festival alongside the Mystery Jets, Audio Bullys and The Zutons.
The Days are brothers Luke (vocals, keyboards, chief songwriter) and Dan Simpkins (bass), Harry Meads (drums) and Tim Ayers (guitar). Theirs is music that bodies forth images of beaches and blue skies and endless summer days - which is fitting, because that's precisely the world THE DAYS inhabit. Raised in the idyllic environs of South Devon, the foursome relishes the carefree lifestyle that their willing exile from the metropolis affords them.
Scratch the surface of The Days streamlined pop and you'll find familiar touchstones: the harmony-laden, West Coast euphoria of The Byrds: Incubus; languid musicianship; and, especially, the agile lyrical voice of Simpkins' songwriting idol, Ben Folds.
In between their live shows, The Days are putting the finishing touches to their debut album, which they recorded at Grouse Lodge in Ireland with John Cornfield (Razorlight, Muse). Debut single No Ties will be released in October, further details to come.

The Days- Evil Girls EP

Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.
Desyn Masiello: ilikemusic because... It saved my life!
Steff, Webmaster Musebr.com: ilikemusic because... the shows are very good, we make friends, we jump, and everybody scream so loud, and for a moment we forget all the problems of the world!
Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Jay Sean: ilikemusic because... It’s the soundtrack to my life.
Kal Lavelle: ilikemusic because... it's cheaper than a therapist! ;)
Leon Jean-Marie: ilikemusic because... It transcends. It really creates emotion with someone. That feeling it gives you, it goes through boundaries. To create something, it just breaks through all the walls. When you connect with a song, that is it, that is magic isn't it?
Terry, The Temptations: ilikemusic because... There’s no way I could ever imagine a world without music.
Del: ilikemusic because... music is life
