You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people. One of the biggest breakthrough acts of 2008, The Saturdays release their new single Issues available now through Fascination Records.
The mid-tempo ballad shows a different side to the fivesome that are fast becoming everyone's new favourite pop group. Issues tells the story of a relationship coming to a head. "It's about a person not knowing if they want to be with someone or not - it's a situation a lot of people find themselves in," explains Vanessa. The single was written by Evan Rogers and Carl Struken, the New York based duo who have been behind hits for the likes of Rihanna and Christina Aguilera.
The single release of Issues will include a remix by legendary musician/songwriter Vince Clarke. Vince, who was in some of the greatest pop groups of all time from Yazoo to Depeche Mode, remixed the single after hearing The Saturday's If This Is Love which sampled Yazoo's classic Situation.
Issues follows hot on the heels of Up which was a top five hit for The Saturdays. Vanessa, Frankie, Mollie, Una and Rochelle have had an incredible year which has seen them hit the top ten with both single releases and an album which debuted at #11.
Issues is taken from The Saturdays recently released album Chasing Lights - the album was called a "contender for pop album of the year" by The Times and "a sexy pop debut" by Billboard.
The Saturdays have been cutting their teeth on the live stage alongside some of their peers outside of the pop world. The girls rocked the stage at MTV's Spanking New Sessions alongside White Lies and earlier this month the girls wowed the crowds at Perez Hilton's EMA party alongside Estelle and The Ting Tings. And if that wasn't tough enough Brandon Flowers and Kanye West were both in the audience.
