This Week in Rock

Week ending 01-08-2010

From the ashes of SikTh rise new band Aliases, founded by guitar impresario Pin. They. Rock. So do Violent Soho, whose single Jesus Stole My Girlfriend makes us feel like the grunge era started yesterday. Plus Avenged Sevenfold get back to action with their new album Nightmare and a U.K. tour alongside Stone Sour.

Blackpool cracks out the mohawked donkeys in preparation for the arrival of Rebellion Festivals, the U.K.'s biggest punk festival featuring more punk legends than we thought possible. Finally, Coheed & Cambria get cultural with their new video, cut together from the landmark 1920s sci-fi film Metropolis.

Not content to finish there, our playlist this week has the best in rock music old and new, including Jimmy Eat World, Bad Religion, Pixies, Thrice and more.
