Arctic Monkeys release their brand new single, Who The **** Are Arctic Monkeys? packed with new songs and a banger from the album on April 24th. The boys also release Scummy Man on DVD and announce new tour dates. Scummy Man is a short film inspired by the Arctic Monkeys' recent hit When The Sun Goes Down.

All's well and rosy in the garden then it seems. It would of course be predictable, easy, and par for the course to trot out the obligatory third single, milk the cash cow, assured in the knowledge of a top 20 placing when Dr Fox or whoever does it these days has his run down.
How boring it would be then to bleed the album dry, and offer another song, many have had in some form or another for the best part of a year.
It's not like the mind stops working or new songs don't get written all the time. To be precious and save them in some kind of vault awaiting the marketing men for album two, the prime time adverts in the break in Coronation Street and the billboard campaign. Jesus! There must be more to life you'd think.
