  • Ellen, Los CampesinosEllen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
  • ASHUNDAASHUNDA: ilikemusic because... I like positive music for it leads the joys with life
  • BreadnButterBreadnButter: ilikemusic because... it rocks my world...
  • robbierobbie: ilikemusic because... my friends say its cool
  • JunJun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!
  • Ali Campbell, UB40Ali Campbell, UB40: ilikemusic because... It’s supposed to bring people together.
  • Sian EvansSian Evans: ilikemusic because... when everyone you cared about lets you down (e.g. friends, boyfriend, parents) all at the same time music will always be there to pick you up and help you move on. ;-)
  • vickkivickki: ilikemusic because... it makes mii wanna get up and dance and because when u kno the words u can't help but sing along and that makes u feel happy !!!

Bloc Party Live @ The Guildhall, Southampton

An angular 'Hunting for Witches' pokes a stick at the flag waving Right, while 'On' provides a cautionary tale of the allure of drug abuse against a musical backdrop of - admittedly very apt - euphoria.

It's left to single 'The Prayer' to provoke the first outbreak of obligatory foot-stomping and hands-above-your-head clapping of the night, and provides welcome respite from all the intermittent seriousness.

Much like their crowd-wowing V Festival performances, the band are in ridiculously fine form. Matt Tong's lung-busting, tub-thumping almost steals the limelight as ever. Russell continues his gradual but steady ascent to official guitar genius; all Johnny Greenwood fringe, fretwork and riffing. And Gordy pulls more shapes than a Pippettes dance routine.

However, it's Kele on whom the media will inevitably be focusing its attentions in the coming months. These are, after all, his own words he's singing. Whether he has put himself in the spotlight or the firing line remains to be seen.
