Deep Purple - Rapture Of The Deep

Intense, fearless, full of fire, and wit, and passion. Marked by serious virtuosity, but never a slave to it. Still finding new meaning in a medium they all but single-handedly created.

This can only be describing the new Deep Purple album "Rapture of the Deep" which is released on 24th October through Edel Records. The album features 10 new tracks and was produced by Michael Bradford (Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker etc.)

Deep Purple 'Rapture' style are: Ian Gillan - vocalising, Roger Glover on bass, drummer Ian Paice, Steve Morse on guitar and pounding the Keyboards - Don Airey formerly of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne and Rainbow (amongst others).

Formed in 1968 Deep Purple have been together for 35 years (give or take a year or two in the middle), have sold well over 100 million albums worldwide - including innumerable platinum and gold albums. In the UK alone they have had 19 top 40 albums (8 top 10), 8 top 50 singles (2 top 10) and their albums include the biggest selling rock album of all time "Deep Purple In Rock". They have toured all five continents several times and still play to sold out venues all over the world.

The band will follow up the album release with 'The Rapture of the Deep World Tour' which begins in January. To finish off 2005 - Purple will be playing some shows in The Far East and Asia in October and November.
