Funeral For A Friend are one of the UK's most successful rock acts and they have certainly notched up a staggering number of successes during their illustrious five year career. Three gold selling albums. Nine Top 20 singles. Half a decade of global touring. Twenty plus magazine front covers in the UK. Headlining the NME Awards tour in 2005. Supporting the likes of Iron Maiden, Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance and winning BT Digital Artist of the Year in 2007 to name a few! They now release their fourth album Memory And Humanity to a sea of hungry fans. ilikemusic caught up with the band for a chat to get the lo-down on the new album, what we can expect from them live and why, with a mantle-piece heavy with awards, they prefer to write at home instead of in a studio.

ILM: How does your new album differ from your past releases? Can you describe its vibe?

Kris: It was a different experience. We didn't have the chain of people that we had on our major label. As soon as we'd finished a song it was just like 'Do we like it? Yes we do. Great.' It was quite liberating to have that freedom, when it is only what we think about it that matters.
