Green Day - Jesus Of Suburbia

Green Day release 'Jesus Of Suburbia', the cornerstone of their much loved, 9-million selling album 'American Idiot', on November 7th on Reprise.

A remarkable nine-minute, five-part song that is not only the most exhilarating part of the Green Day live show but that also defines the concept of 'American Idiot', 'Jesus Of Suburbia' is the band's most ambitious offering to date and looks set to be one of the boldest hit singles of the year.

'Jesus Of Suburbia' follows Green Day's other 'American Idiot' hits in the form of 'American Idiot' (#3), 'Boulevard Of Broken Dreams' (#5), 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' (#7) and 'Holiday' (#11).

The single is released ahead of the November 14th DVD release that documents Green Day's momentous two-night stand earlier this year at the Milton Keynes National Bowl. The two mammoth shows were attended by a total of 250,000 fans.

'American Idiot' has sold 1.4-million copies in the UK alone, debuting at #1 and remaining in the Top 30 a year later. The album also earned Green Day a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.

"Jesus Of Suburbia echoes Bryan's Adams's Summer Of '69 and Johnny Cash's Ring Of Fire… It's an audacious artist statement… The kind of big rock statement rarely heard since the heyday of The Who" - Q

"Jesus Of Suburbia boldly traverses snotty punk, arena rock and The Beach Boys" - The Guardian

"Jesus Of Suburbia runs from breezy surf pop and Bowie-esque introspection to barbed rockabilly and blue collar stadium rock" - The Times
