'Don't' think only the Americans do this type of music well… because the Brits are coming!' Powerplay
Medicine Hat are a high energy six piece Southern Rock group set in motion by a journey of two English musicians, singer Mark Jackson and guitarist Steven Loveday. Their journey has taken them to the Northern plains of America where after travels through Indian reservations and smokey bars they found their calling. Medicine Hat released their debut album Bone Dry in 2001 and followed that up in 2004 with a live album from which the band gained a fantastic reputation as a touring outfit, the album was a testimony to their talent.
While putting the finishing touches to their new album, Medicine Hat have released a three-track CD that showcases the band's huge talent, including a cover of Steve Earle's Copperhead Road which Powerplay described as 'inspired, insane and incredible'.
Medicine Hat are that rare species of a band that cross over many genres, but always leave you in mind of classic Southern rock full of superb guitar breaks, booming choruses and great songs. Vocalist Mark Jackson has a hard driving vocal style and furious passion for "Outlaw Country" and Native America creating a perfect match for the group's hard edge.
