A fitting first single from an amazingly hook-laden and textured album, "Photograph" sees the band's ability to craft infectious, sticky rock tracks in full display, while also marking a natural progression for the band. A video for the single was recently shot by longtime Nickelback-video director Nigel Dick (Guns n' Roses, Britney, Ozzy), in the band's Canadian hometown of Hanna, Alberta.
Inspired by a nostalgic 'look back' by lead singer/guitarist Chad Kroeger, initiated by a photo taken one New Year's Eve of himself with the band's longtime friend/engineer Joey Moi, "Photograph" is the tale of the memories that flood back after finding old photos you had tucked away. From teenage mischief to young love, all the way down to regrets or promises that may not have been kept, the song deals with common human experiences and the video shows off the personal history of members Chad and Mike Kroeger and Ryan Peake. The small town in the Canadian badlands where they grew up gave them a warm welcome back. "It was a wonderful trip down memory lane," says Kroeger. "It was great to see the people and places that we haven't seen since we left there ten years ago."
