U2 and Green Day - The Saints Are Coming single / Definitive U2 Best Of album

Music Rising was set up by The Edge, producer Bob Ezrin and Gibson Guitars'
Chairman Henry Juskiewicz . The campaign's goal is to help to rebuild the musical heart and culture of the Gulf Region by replacing the musical instruments lost during Hurricane Katrina.

U2 guitarist The Edge: "My visits to New Orleans gave me a firsthand look at the devastation which tragically destroyed the lives of thousands. The area's rich and spirited culture must continue to be restored."

Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong; "One year later, people continue to be devastated by Katrina's effects. We hope that by collaborating with U2, we'll remind the public that people of the Gulf Coast are still suffering and still need help to rebuild their lives."

THE HUNT IS ON

U218 Singles launches with a worldwide online lyric hunt, running until November 3rd. Banners featuring short lyrical excerpts from the tracks on U218 Singles will be posted on websites around the world. To enter the competition fans must locate these hidden lyrics, aided by clues posted on U2.com.

Each lyrical excerpt will have one letter highlighted; fans must collect all the letters to have an opportunity to win. At the end of the competition, U2.com will ask fans to use the letters collected to answer a question.

Those who successfully answer the question are in with a chance to win an all expenses paid trip to see the final show on U2's Vertigo//Tour with special guests Pearl Jam, at the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

The winner will be announced on U2.com on November 6.
