The Ordinary Boys - Brassbound

"At our shows, everyone in the room makes the gig, not just us. The feeling at our shows for me is like a family reunion or a big night out with all your mates in tow. Some of the tracks on the album are written about the fans, 'A Call To Arms' is pretty much a tribute to them and they deserve that cos they've been there every time, down the front singing along and helping us to make every show special."

But the album also sees a more reflective lyricist than the Preston that launched "Over The Counter Culture" into (justified) attacks on the world he saw around him.

"On this album I've tried to focus on the things that unify people rather than divide them. Again, that's informed by our audience to an extent, I'm happy to admit that a track like 'Weekend Revolution' has a pop at people who do the 9-5 thing and then go out on a Friday and Saturday and get pissed but I do the same. We all do. The only difference is that my mates tend to work on Saturdays in shops so I do it on a Tuesday. I love the fact that people sing along to 'Talk, Talk. Talk' at gigs and it means something to them. If the songs on this album get the same reaction then I'll be happy, job done."
