Kat Vipers: ilikemusic because... There's not many other things to like.
Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.
Patrick: ilikemusic because... Music came from the universe...always finding a way into societies from the beginning of time. I imagine it has always been out there waiting for us to show up. I'm so glad we made it!
Lupe Fiasco: ilikemusic because... It gives me a chance to escape and reach people I wouldn’t ordinarily be able to reach. And without music the world would be kinda quiet.
robbie: ilikemusic because... my friends say its cool
Leon Jean-Marie: ilikemusic because... It transcends. It really creates emotion with someone. That feeling it gives you, it goes through boundaries. To create something, it just breaks through all the walls. When you connect with a song, that is it, that is magic isn't it?
Martin Rowe-Miller: ilikemusic because... it enabled me to win the Motorokrstar UK competition and record with Wyclef and Fergie.
Alicia Keys: ilikemusic because... it makes you feel!
BERNARD: ilikemusic because... IT MAKES ME RELAX GET ENJOYED AND HAVE A PIECE OF MIND AND FUNAmy Winehouse was this year's big winner at the Grammy Awards 2008. Despite being absent from the LA award ceremony due to problems getting a visa, Amy won five awards including song of the year for Rehab and record of the year, plus best new artist, best pop vocal album for Back To Black and best female pop vocal performance for Rehab.
Fortunately though, Amy was able to perform You Know I'm No Good and Rehab and make an acceptance speech by satellite from a London studio.
Amy gave her mum a big hug as the Los Angeles crowd chanted her name. The 24-year-old singer paid tribute to her husband, "my Blake incarcerated", who is in custody awaiting trial on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and GBH. "Camden Town ain't burning down," added Amy, in reference to the Camden fire this weekend, dedicating the award to London.
The US embassy refused her visa initially, then reversed their decision at the eleventh hour, but they were too late, as she wouldn't have made it to the ceremony in time by the time she'd been granted a visa.
