Battlejam - BEARDYMAN + JFB + MARK DE CLIVE LOWE + KLUMZYTUNG + ED SOLO
2006 and 2007 UK Beatbox Champion Beardyman and 2007 UK DMC Champion JFB have been turning rooms of fresh-smelling, stationary punters into rooms of sweaty, dancing punters for a total of about 9 years, and for they are bringing the benefit of their experience to bear on their first official joint venture, BATTLEJAM.

FRIDAY 25TH APRIL 2008
CARGO LONDON
Artistic adviser and resident genius, the esteemed Ed Solo from Undiluted, Supercharged & Against The Grain Records, plays an important role at Battlejam by ensuring that the insanity stays relatively structured and sonically tweaked to perfection. He also comes up with a lot of technical ideas and the whole of Battlejam wouldn't be what it is without him.
Resident vocal nut-case Klumzy-Tung adds his ridiculous comedy freestyle genius to the mix when necessary to complete the glorious, glorious stupidity that is Battlejam.
The format is simple: every month, a guest musician from the vast pool of Brighton talent joins them for a marathon 4 hour jam which involves live sampling of both guest musician and beatbox-vocal-nutter Beardyman by the excessively sick scratch-technician JFB.
When they're feeling particularly lairy they sample the crowd either en-mass or individually and make a tune out of it - live - by scratching it and manipulating it in before your very ears. No-one knows what's going to happen until it does at Battlejam, not even the performers themselves.
By the time 4 hours is up, both audience members and performers alike have reached a state of ecstatic transcendence!
If it sounds bizarre that's because no-ones done it before, so come see it and witness this groundbreaking night before everyone starts copying it.....In the words of Battlejam...
'It goes off like a hip-hop nail-bomb, and fends off the toffs stultifying them to great aplomb, from the proletariat, come n see it where you at, come down the vibe will hit you like a metal cricket bat. '
Word. Battlejam can usually be found in Audio on marine parade, just off Brighton sea-front, but this special event is at Cargo, London. Turn up and your drunken shoutings could become the hook for your new favourite tune. . . you got the balls?
