Free from the stereotypical constraints of your average band Chasing Liz was born when four university friends first came together as a group of producers just trying to make music. Independent label, The Real Funk has nurtured the band and helped them to capture the essence of their urban influenced dirty pop style. The download only debut single Gravity Girl is a classic example of the style that sets Chasing Liz apart from the rest - a vocoder tinged, R&B influenced introduction to the band

Originally a foursome, the band have recently become a five-piece with the addition of gospel trained pianist and drummer Deleon. Starting as a session musician for the guys, before graduating to the fully-fledged and permanent fifth member, Deleon joins multi-talented string plucker Amir on guitars, lead songwriter and pianist Costas, DJ and hype man Nat (aka DJ N-Sway) and front man and drummer Yogi.

It's the last two on the list that can take credit for bringing the band together. Both heavily involved in DJing from an early age, bootlegs, remixes and original productions followed, before the birth of Chasing Liz. Essentially a group of musicians, producers, DJs and MCs, the group is strongly influenced by hip hop and live music, but takes a fluid approach to hit making, each person throwing their talents into the mix to be honed and sharpened into the Chasing Liz sound.

And Chasing Liz's sound has already been championed by the likes of Kiss' Manny Norte, Masterstepz and DJ Woody on Choice FM, which looks set to be just the start of things to come…not bad for a project the guys started while both still studying at university.
