Records. Officially Yours is the third single to be taken from his recent album release Trust Me, which many critics have heralded as his finest work since debuting with Born To Do It.
A heartfelt, intimate love song with a refreshing acoustic edge, Officially Yours is evidence of Craig David's increasingly mature and well-crafted songwriting that reflects the best of the Trust Me album. Officially Yours follows the recent hit singles Hot Stuff (Let's Dance) and 6 of 1 Thing.
Part recorded in Havana, Cuba with producer Martin Terefe (KT Tunstall, James Morrison) and writer/producer/mixer Fraser T. Smith (Kano, Beyonce, Plan B, Jamelia), the album's other highlights include the ballad Awkward (featuring guest vocals from west London's emerging teenage talent Rita Ora) which offers some of his most evocative lyrics to date, the infectious hook and insistent rhythms of Don't Play With Our Love, and She's On Fire which combines sublime bass with Craig's famously fluid lyrical flow.
Having introduced Trust Me with an exclusive week-long residency at the legendary Ronnie Scott's venue, the tour dates as below offer another rare chance to catch Craig David playing in intimate settings:
June 2008
13th - Birmingham, Alexandra Theatre
14th - Southampton, Guildhall
16th - Salford, Lowry Lyric Theatre
17th - London, Shepherd's Bush Empire
18th - Cambridge, Corn Exchange
A multiple-award winner who has earned three Ivor Novello Awards (including Songwriter of the Year and Best Contemporary Song), four MOBOs (one of which was for Best UK Act) and two MTV Europe Awards, Craig David has worked with a talented array of artists including Sting and Artful Dodger's Mark Hill and Pete Devereux. Craig David also recently featured on Kano's Top 20 single 'This is The Girl', a track that he also produced and co-wrote.
