Iyaz - Replay

Already making waves with the phenomenal Stateside success of his debut single Replay, rising Island Pop star Iyaz has made a similar impression with the UK release of the single on Time is Money / Beluga Heights / Reprise Records.

Replay is one of the defining tracks behind the fast rising Island Pop sound; a term coined by his mentors Sean Kingston and J.R. Rotem. The genre effortlessly blends rap, reggae and pop into a perfect cocktail of island sounds.

Still just 22 years old, Iyaz was discovered when Sean Kingston stumbled upon his MySpace page. Kingston signed Iyaz to production company Time is Money Entertainment and recommended him to his friend, super producer J.R. Rotem (Rihanna, Britney Spears, Leona Lewis, 50 Cent). Rotem subsequently signed Iyaz through Time is Money Entertainment to Beluga Heights.

"Iyaz's songwriting style is timeless and universal," says Rotem of his new protégé. "He's a storyteller who paints visual scenarios that tug at the listener's heart-strings."

Now the 22 year old artist - born in the U.S. Virgin Islands but raised in the British Virgin Islands - is forging ahead on work for his debut album that's set to be released next year, with Rotem on production duties. With the support of Rotem and Kingston behind him, Iyaz is destined to become the next breakout star from the Island Pop genre.
