Following the success of the release of her debut album Public Warning in the US on October the 31st on Def Jam Recordings, Lady Sovereign releases her new single "Love Me Or Hate Me" in the UK on 22nd January 2007. Read the I Like Music interview here.
The single is also backed by an alternate version of the track that features Missy Elliott rapping with Lady Sovereign. The single has already notched up impressive download sales of over 100.000 in the US, and has made Sovereign the first British artist to hit No1 Most requested video on MTV US.
Now 2007 promises to be Sovereign's year. With her debut album Public Warning set to drop in the UK on February 5th, preceded by "Love Me Or Hate Me". Sovereign is back to give music a kick in the pants "So I can't dance /and I really cant sing" she says on "Love Me Or Hate Me". "I can only do one thing/and that's be Lady Sovereign"
'Love Me Or Hate Me' is available on CD, 12" and download and features the original version and the Missy Elliott remix.
Sovereign has completed a sold out 26 date tour in the US, last year she also performed at Lollapalooza and Coachella festivals as well as headlining the summer stage in Central Park. To round off a phenomenal 2006 Sovereign playedTime Square on New Years Eve playing alongside Gwen Stefani and Pussycat Dolls to approximately 100,000 people. The gig was broadcast live across America on MTV.
Not only that, Sov has just announced she will be supporting Gwen Stefani on her US tour this summer!
