Meleka is the UK's brightest and hottest new talent with her debut single Go currently causing a storm across the UK and online. Hailing from north-west London singer/ songwriter Meleka, 21, was crowned HUGO URBAN RULES winner in 2008 after wowing music industry execs as well as chart toppers Estelle and Sabrina Washington. ILM: How would you describe the sound and vibe of your single Go?
Meleka: I would describe the sound and vibe as emotional in every way possible. Alongside the Crazy Cousinz remix there are baseline and R'n'B mixes too.
ILM: What is the Meleka process of making music, how does it all come together?
Meleka: It's always spontaneous. Sometimes I'm in the studio and the producer plays me a beat and I just vibe off that. Or I might be getting dressed in the morning, or see something on TV, pretty much anything gives me an idea for a song!
