Slickmouth - I Made It

English born, Californian raised, and now living back in the UK, Slickmouth drops the first single off his forthcoming street album Superstar. The track is already causing a stir both sides of the pond.

Slickmouth was born in London in the mid-eighties before moving Nigeria and then on to Los Angeles where he spent most of his teenage years. He now living back in London, Slickmouth has been writing, creating and perfecting his style over the last three years. This is maybe the secret to his music, as it also is well traveled and has that international worldwide appeal. The Slickmouth sound is something unique, something refreshing and above all it's entertaining as twists up soulful grooves with poetically soothing lyrics, while always being exciting and forward-thinking in his approach.

His first assault of the UK music industry was his debut CD entitled 'And There She Was' which dropped in 2008. This release gained a real underground street buzz as well as some serious radio play for Slickmouth. As well as a string of pirate and internet stations supporting the release, Slickmouth also had airplay on BBC1Xtra as well as old skool veteran DJ 279 from Choice FM playing two tracks from the CD; 'Ain't Nobody' and 'Act Right'. It was this release that got him deep in the game and now Slickmouth has worked with a string of commendable UK artists including as M9 from Triple Darkness, G-Frsh, A-Tola, Dexplicit (the producer of Lethal B's 'Pow' hit) and many more, as well as setting up his own situation called the ILLSET Camp where he works with two in-house producers called Bayb-B and S.C.

Now in 2009 Slickmouth is ready to unleash his best work to date with a collection of brilliant recordings which will be known as 'Superstar'. This will be his second solo effort and will include the massive single 'I Made It' which is already heating up the airwaves with various DJ's showing the track a lot of love, not just here in the UK but overseas as well. A string of showcases from some major US labels including Def Jam have been lined up, so I guess the bidding war has already begun! Slickmouth is one seriously talented recording artist and offers so much more than just tales of guns, drugz and women. This is real Hip-Hop music with that edge and certain swagger that is unique to Slickmouth. UK stand up, a new king has been born and his name is Slickmouth!!!
