I Like Music Because heading
  • JunJun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!

You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
  • DannyDanny: ilikemusic because... It's my life

The Blackout Crew - Time 2 Shine

The Blackout Crew were formed at the Harmony Youth Project, their local youth Club in Bolton; it was there the "quirky" group recorded their first tracks and set the foundations and style of a debut album, Time 2 Shine.

This new breed of boy band began distributing their tracks themselves amongst friends and family resulting in a growing circle of fans who followed the guys through social networking sites, their You Tube page and bluetoothing their tracks from phone to phone.

But despite with their rising popularity, The Blackout Crew still struggled to make money from their music as their fan base were illegally downloading their music.

The Blackout Crew were Initially formed by youth leaders Paul and Charlie and were inspired by the donk sounds of Alex K and the NRG/Bounce music played at the likes of Wigan Pier and various North-West clubs.

The first wave of Blackout Crew members included Viper (Kurtis Chadwick), Rapid (Robert Davis) & Dowie (Kevin Allison). They were later joined by Zak (Zak Kabbani) & Cover (Jordan Cover).

In 2005 the Blackout Crew started touring covering under 18's Events across the UK, which gave them huge exposure outside their hometown.
