'Don't Lie' is the second single to be taken from their global selling album `Monkey Business', which six weeks after release has shifted nearly three million copies. Like most of the tracks on `Monkey Business', the personal lives of the band infiltrate their songwriting and 'Don't Lie' is no exception.
Written by all four Peas, will.i.am says it was born of a true experience of bending the truth to an ex-girlfriend.
'It's a song about owning up and apologising and realising your faults. It's about being a man or a woman - an adult - and confronting situations honestly.'
`Monkey Business' debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, selling 300,000 in its first week, giving them their highest charting album in the US. Over the next few months, the band will be concentrating on the US market and their success looks certain to go from strength to strength.
The Black Eyed Peas, who performed an amazing 433 live shows last year are currently on a headlining tour of the US and Canada. They have also just announced they will be supporting The Rolling Stones for their two Boston dates in August and will be supporting Gwen Stefani's 16 date first solo tour 'Harajuku Lovers 2005'.
Look out for the fantastic video for 'Don't Lie' which was directed by Saline Project (Eminem and The Hives), the backdrop to which was filmed entirely in Brazil.
